What began as a financial and economic crisis has rapidly become a chronic global jobs crisis, leading to hardship and social unrest. 27 million jobs were lost during the crisis bringing the global unemployed total to 200 million - in addition, 40 million people will enter the labor force every year, thus creating a 10 year challenge of 600 million jobs. - What individual and coordinated responses are needed from governments, business and other stakeholders to address the unprecedented increase in global unemployment in the short term? - What are new policy models for stimulating job creation?
